Sacrament of Confirmation

Confirmation is often referred to as the Sacrament of the Holy Spirit. The Sacrament of Confirmation builds upon Baptism, and completes an individual’s initiation into the Catholic Church. In Confirmation, recipients receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit – Wisdom, Understanding, Knowledge, Counsel, Fortitude, Piety, and Fear of the Lord.

At Immaculate Conception and St. Joseph Parish, we prepare children in the seventh and eighth grade to receive Confirmation. We also offer guidance to older children and adult Catholics who are seeking to be Confirmed. To learn more about preparing for Confirmation, click here.

Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who activates all of them in everyone. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common Good.
— 1 Corinthians 12:4-7
